CARE Ambulance is currently seeking a Wheel Chair Driver

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete Wheel Chair Forms
Billing forms
Daily run log
Truck Check-off sheets
After actually completing a thorough truck check-off
Stock
Cleanliness
Engine Fluids
Tires - Safety
Ability to push patients in wheels chairs ( up to 450lbs)
Ability to operate both types of Wheel Chair vans proficiently
Collect proper paperwork from facilities/patients for transport
Transport patients in the proper locations – never without a Wheel Chair
Keep in Dispatch aware of your location at all times
When transporting
When delayed
Properly move patients from facility to Van and back
Properly secure Wheel Chairs in vans with straps
Properly secure two multiple chairs in a larger van
Know policy on transporting family members on transports
Knowledge of proper procedure to load and unloading of Wheel Chairs onto the vans
Knowledge of which patients can be transported in which Vehicles
Size restrictions
Equipment restrictions
Knowledge of proper radio usage
Give all pertinent information to dispatch
Ask for permission to call if needed
If Emergency – contact ASAP and give pertinent details to get proper assistance
Knowledge of Company SOP’s
Must keep unit clean (inside and out)
Must keep unit stocked with the proper items
Follow company dress code
Follow company clock-in process
Follow company fueling procedure
Follow proper posting procedures
Follow proper activation procedures
Obey all traffic laws
Qualification Requirements:
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
Clean criminal background check and driving record.
Pass a DOT Physical – if unable to pass DOT physical for any reason – get a state waiver per DOT regulations
Obtain signatures of release at the proper facilities
