Gateway is currently seeking a Dispatcher

Job Summary: Receives emergency and non-emergency requests for ambulance service from public and private parties and transmits orders to suitable response units.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Dispatch EMTs and Paramedics to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs.
• Notify garage in the event of broken vehicles
• Relay work orders, messages, and information to and from work crews.
• Scheduling of ambulance runs (emergent and non-emergent).
• Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules.
• Enter information and time/date stamp into electronic dispatching system
• Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications.
• Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards.
• Support timely and efficient movement of ambulances according to orders and schedules.

Qualification Requirements: 

• EMD certified
• High School diploma or GED
• Customer service skills
• Medical background a plus
